Hatsune Miku Photoshoot!

My Hatsune Miku figurine finally arrived yesterday XD

I was going to post up pictures of her right away, but then decided against it. Since I’ll be going back in 2 days, why not make it even NICER then? >:D

So today I went to Midvalley to get Akane my camera fixed. Apparently, my 1 Gb memory card Kaputed and my rechargeable batteries mysteriously died. So I ended up spending RM 150 (RM 100 for a 2 Gb Memory Card, RM 50 for a new pair of rechargeable batteries) to buy new ones OTL I also grabbed a sheet of construction (?) paper (you know, the kind used for backdrops? Dunno if I got the spelling right DX).

I’m too tired to post about Akane my camera and the trip, so I’ll leave it for another post (if it ever happens). Right now I’ll focus on my photoshoot =P

This is a general shot of my Hatsune Miku Figurine. She’s one of the most awesome and most detailed figurines I own (and the most expensive, clocking at RM 210), and being a HUGE Hatsune Miku fan, this sculpt certainly didn’t disappoint.

Now here’s something I’m experimenting with – figurine photography. Granted, I don’t own a DSLR or anything of the sort, so I took them using my sister’s Sony Cybershot Album T, with a tripod, a black backdrop (made using the paper I purchased in Midvalley) and a light bulb lamp (you know, those with the yellowish lights?)

Now this is one filtered with filter paper. Notice the shadow isn’t as sharp anymore, and more importantly, the light is red now? I think it has something to do with the distance and macro setting of the camera, not really sure. Gonna experiment more when I photoshoot my other figurines tomorrow =P

Yes I’m Translating Again

Its been hell long since I last translated anything. The last thing I can remember is a half-completed draft of GRAVE, from GOTH, but that’s like, a year ago.

So yeah, as I was studying for my Electronics Paper (which I hope I won’t fail… T_T), I suddenly had this urge to start translating again. I dunno why, don’t ask me.

Since I’m done with all my exams and shit (not counting supps), I have decided that I will translate Mushi to Medama during Sem Break.

For all of those who haven’t heard of it, the basic gist is this: Sakaki Guryuu is a genius who decided to become a teacher in a countryside so he could be together with his lover, a high school girl named Usagawa Rinne. One day, he sees her being killed right in front of his eyes by a psycho loli girl named Gankyuu Eguriko, who dug Rinne’s eyes out with… a spoon. As Sakaki is freaking out, however, Rinne suddenly wakes up and asks them, seemingly fine, what’s wrong.

And No, I’m not translating this because of the Psycho Lolis.
